1971 450 Ducati Jupiter Scrambler

Here is another project that came out of my back yard as I had been collecting parts for this bike for some time but never got around to putting it together.

I talked a friend into buying it.

I rebuilt the engine and had the head ported for a 34 mm Dellorto pumper carb. The ignition was changed to 12 volt but other than that, the engine is stock.

I was unable to find new rims the proper size so I dug through my stash of wheels and found rims that were in decent shap. I had these rims chromed and I respoked the restored hubs to spokes. Tires of the correct size were difficult to find but these Dunlops did the trick. Unfortunately the rear tire was hitting the support loop on the center stand. I had to cut it off, grind it down and have it welded a bit closer to the top.

I assembled the frame and installed the engine, ultimately giving the rolling chassis to the owner. He did final assembly and brought it back to me for tuning.

The paint work was done by Matt at Sonoran Desert Cycle.

This project took less than a year to complete.
